STUDIO HANSEN was founded by principal, Holger Hansen and is made up of a team of architects, interior designers and designers. Situated between the trendy districts of Prenzlauer Berg and Berlin Mitte, the office blends in with the large number of galleries, start-ups, factories, boutiques and popular eateries that give this area its colourful, lively and inspiring character. Our body of work is an accumulation of experience from various fields of design, architecture and interior design. Creativity is inspired from the context of these different disciplines, characterizing the design process on all projects. Thinking out of the box, recognizing and implementing new possibilities, turning the familiar and the ordinary into something remarkable and extraordinary, is our definition of strong and convincing design. We believe in a holistic design methodology, which often involves continuous and intensive dialogue with clients, engineers, consulting firms and most importantly, the inhabitants of the space themselves. Based on the individual needs and personality of the client, a tailor-made, sensual language for space and detail is developed in close collaboration, not only with the client but together with all parties involved. Thus every project becomes an unmistakably individual product: a synthesis of conceptual, functional and aesthetic integrity. The ultimate goal is to endow our clients with tailor-made spaces: an authentic atmosphere, allowing them to experience, live and unfold.

HOLGER HANSEN has worked as an architect for the firm Henn Architekten, in collaboration with the Parisian studio, Andrée Putman, on the interior design of the Hotel Ritz-Carlton-Wolfsburg. He was project manager for the office amj-design, responsible for conceptualization, design planning and execution of several hotels in the five-star-plus category. The focus was mainly on the conference, SPA and reception areas. Other hotel projects included the Adlon Day SPA and the Hotel Quellenhof in Aachen. In 2005, he co-founded HANSENWINKLER, a successful design studio with partner and product designer, Marco Winkler. Further, future co-operations are to follow with two independent, specialized companies.
